ENGAGING THE WISDOM OF GOD FOR DOMINION
You're not the only one who feels overwhelmed and unsure about what to do. Life throws many difficulties and problems at us, so much so that we feel like buckling under its pressures. There is, however, a divine solution for the earthly problems of man. a wisdom that can lift us above them all. This is the grace found in the wisdom of God.
The wisdom found in God is infinitely greater than anything man could ever work out. The mind of God is like a treasure field which, when explored, yields treasures of wisdom that enrich the beneficiary in the most exceeding proportions.
Concerning the bottomless dimensions of god’s wisdom, Paul wrote to the Romans: Romans 11:33-36 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and[i] knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!. 34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”[j] 35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them?”[k] 36 For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen. NIV
Paul is amazed at God's wisdom. Every one of God's actions is thoroughly wise - wise in every respect, making provisions even for the things to come.
To live life confidently and on purpose, we need to be tapped into this truth. That’s not about conforming to the standards of the world but instead attuning ourselves to the soft and gentle prodding of God’s Spirit.
If we may explore the themeof the nature of God’s Wisdom a little further, we will discover:
1. God Is the Extraordinary Strategist
God always knows exactly what to do in every situation. Nothing is ever unknown to God. Nothing is ever too difficult for God. When we ask for wisdom, God will give us choices that we would never have thought of on our own.
2. Jesus Was Marked by Wisdom
Jesus lived His whole life before and after the cross, following God’s wisdom from His years as a boy to His resurrection from the dead. According to Isaiah, God’s Spirit will “rest” upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and strength” (Isaiah 11:12). Oh! what blessing that this Spirit is available to all of us who put their faith in God.
3. Christ Is the Treasury of Wisdom
According to Paul in Colossians 2:3, the source of all wisdom and knowledge is Jesus Christ because in Him, “are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Thus, the more we know Him, the wiser we shall be.
4. Wisdom Produces Dominion
Solomon would be one example of this principle. When he judged the baby between the two mothers in 1 Kings 3:28, “all Israel heard about the judgment the king rendered and how he justified the case. Then Joshua and all Israel with him turned and went to the place where they lived, each one to his own inheritance,” so obviously God was displaying His wisdom through Solomon such that everyone recognized him as the king.
What Wisdom Does in the Life of a Believer
Wisdom Brings Stability: The promise is that our lives will be shaken but our wisdom will cause us to stand when things get rough (Isaiah 33:6).
• Wisdom will be a Defence: It protects you, keeps you safe, and shields you from harm (Ecclesiastes 7:12).
• Wisdom will deliver Strength: The wisdom and knowledge from God will give you boldness and the ability to make wise decisions. (Proverbs 24:5–6)
• Wisdom is the Bedrock of Spiritual Maturity — It shapes you as a person and helps you grow in your faith (Colossians 1:28).
It is vital to explore Scripture as a source of wisdom and guidance for your life. As you delve into the Word, you will discover that understanding scripture brings freedom and produces fruit that honours God.
Through Scripture, you will find answers to your toughest questions, strengthen your relationships, experience personal transformation, develop a deeper trust in God, and discover His greater purposes at work in your life.
Jesus spoke of two workers who are engaged in building houses. One takes sand, because it is easy and convenient. The second digs deeper and builds on the rock, spending more time and effort. When a hurricane comes, the house of sand falls apart, and the house on the rock remains standing.
The real difference wasn’t the storm-it was wisdom.
Storms will come in every man’s life but it’s the wisdom that will help him to ride them out. Wisdom is not the quick thing nor is it easy. Wisdom is based on Knowledge and an understanding what is important and what is not.
When you lean on God’s wisdom, you build a life that stands firm, no matter what comes your way.
How to Engage the Wisdom of God
Seek God’s Word-Biblically versed Christians will ultimately understand that the Word of God is where we can find God’s wisdom. Take time to read through God’s Word and ask Him to give you understanding.
Spend time with the Holy Spirit-Ask for guidance; the Holy Spirit is always ready to help.
Walk in Obedience -Wisdom shows itself through what you do, not just what you know.
Value Counsel -Listen to wise advice; it’s safer to make decisions with help.
Keep searching for Answers-You can always learn more and your wisdom will grow.
Prayer Point
1. Father, I pray for wisdom, to speak and to do all things according to your will so that I may live the life you intended for me.
2. Lord Jesus, I ask you to guide me in my thoughts, prayer and decisions. Help me to see, hear, and understand what You want for my life.
3. Direct my paths, strengthen my going places and help me to have courage in all situations. In Jesus’ name.
Five Declarations for Dominion • I believe God’s wisdom is with me, guiding my daily decisions. I have confidence in my perception and take the initiative to accomplish tasks. I know wisdom helps me overcome confusion, fear, and doubt. I want to learn more about Christ and to make Him the wisdom I pursue each day. I have strength and victory because I know that God has given me understanding.
